The castles circuit

Along the trails of this walk, you will see historical places like the lime kilns of Port Albert, the castles of Sautré, Monrepos and Coincé, Sautré mill and the Chapelle des Vignes.

Touristic places
- The Port Albert site is located 1 km away from Feneu town centre. This site is a proof of the presence of a former port, a stopping place for different ships like scows transporting salt, Loire wine, tuffeau stone, slates from Trélazé, etc. Its verdant landscape also brings many fishermen.
- Sautré watermills, built in 1285 to protect the château facing it and watch the traffic on the river. The last mill operated until 1980.
- The château of Sautré, built on a spur, was a defensive structure against Norman people in the Middle Ages.
