    Departing from the Parc Balzac in Angers, a 40 km route is available by bike and crosses outstanding sites, like the Maine river towpath and the Piverdière site in Bouchemaine, giving you a breathtaking view over the low valleys of Angers (one of the most beautiful damp natural regions in Europe).

    This loop goes along the Loire river and the Sainte-Gemmes-sur-Loire gardens, crosses the magnificent slate environment of Trélazé with its unusual nature and old lands converted in wells. Back in Angers, take some time to stroll in the ancient streets, visit the château d’Angers and its treasure: the Apocalypse, enjoy the view on the Maine river from the Promenade du Bout du Monde, before heading to the Parc Balzac.

    Important - 10 August 2022: By Prefectural Order, access to woods and forests is prohibited 24 hours a day from 10 August to prevent any risk of fire given the current temperatures and the state of drought in Maine-et-Loire. This order applies from Wednesday 10 August until the temporary ban is lifted, which will depend on the weather conditions and the state of the vegetation.     Good to know : the Chevallerie ferry has been accessible again since 2 May 2022. 
    February 2022 / change of route: the Balzac bridge is currently closed for an indefinite period. From the Balzac park, please follow the Yolande d'Aragon promenade. 
    From 28 February until 29 April 2022: the route of the Boucle angevine de La Loire à vélo will be modified at the level of the Paperie park via the Angers - Saint-Barthélemy-d'Anjou Green Loop
    From the beginning of May until the end of 2022: this diversion will be extended via avenue Jeanne d'Arc to reach the centre of Angers.
