    With its ideal location in one of the corners of Place du Ralliement, in the heart of Angers’ historic centre, Les Petits Prés quickly became a favourite with local people, who were curious to sample the cuisine of chef Samuel Albert, winner of the 2019 edition of the Top Chef show.
    The menu of the young chef from nearby Soucelles blends local products with exotic flavours that remind of us he has also worked in Shanghai, Melbourne and Tokyo. You find yuzu, shiitake and shiso alongside smoked eel, locally raised poultry and lamb’s lettuce from the Loire. For dessert, there is of course the chef’s signature dish, the apple ‘Magritte’, with a white chocolate ganache, honey and apple sauce with yuzu.
    Diners can opt to sit in the dining room, with a view of the kitchen via a television screen, or at the counter, to chat with the chef, like in Japan.
    The friendly atmosphere and prices are those of a high-end bistro/brasserie.
