Angers: “le Chant du Monde” by Jean Lurçat
Enter the oldest civilian hospital in France.
It was built in the end of the 12th century, 300 years before the Hospices de Beaune.
Today, it houses the famous Jean Lurçat tapestry: “Le Chant du Monde”, manifesto from a committed artist and real contemporary reflection of the Apocalypse Tapestry exposed in Angers’ castle.
Those 10 tapestries represent a symbolic and humanist vision of the 20th century.
An essential visit in an exceptional place!
