A circuit starting and ending in Angers
Your journey begins in the urban surroundings of Angers. Enjoy some time on your bikes in the centre of town before continuing your route towards the Lac du Maine leisure park. This is an ideal spot for families to relax and wander. You will then continue along the river until Bouchemaine, where the Maine and Loire rivers meet. After winding your way through the village, follow the Loire – known for being the last ‘wild’ river in France. Head towards Sainte-Gemme-sur-Loire then onto Les Ponts-de-Cé for views of the banks of the Loire, which along with its valley is classed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Your ride will then take you to Trélazé, a characterful town known for its slate-making industry. Just a few more pedal strokes and you’ll be back in Angers where you began.
