Amid the décor hangs the portrait of the playwright Pierre Corneille after whom the street of the restaurant is named. Prices are affordable with a short evening menu that changes on a monthly basis, in keeping with the season and locally available products. The wines are mostly local too. The restaurant also serves excellent-value lunches, with some surprising suggestions such as the Bømlo salmon, salsify and liquorice appetizer, the beef, potato, pear and Roquefort cheese dish or the dessert featuring Jerusalem artichoke, satsuma and coconut. But the balance is right and the experience is delicious. It’s one to try without delay!
